On Track - Wireless Sensor Networks

A wireless sensor network (WSN) is made up of distributed sensors that monitor vibration, pressure and motion and pass the data via a network to a main location. Through the use of WSN, Post Danmark and Commotive have together created a quality measurement of mailbox collections and fleet management that has saved Danish Post over €1 million since the project began in October 2010.



Post Danmark Boosts Mail-Collection Efficiency

The operator is using two-way 2.4 GHz radio transmission technology to track postal vehicles and mail pickup, in order to optimize routes, improve efficiency and reduce its vehicle fleet.


The Post Car Tells Everything

A small sender in the material – the so-called Commotive solution – has during autumn become part of the daily life in many places and has already provided a fantastic overview of how the vehicle fleet is exploited.
